Teacher agreement

1. Who this agreement is between

This agreement is between you, the teacher or trainer, and Kokani Connect (kokaniconnect.com), currently run by Zuber Palawkar as an individual. You teach as an independent professional. You are not an employee, agent or partner of Kokani Connect.

2. Your profile

• Everything on your profile must be true: your name, photo, qualifications, experience and subjects.
• We check every teacher before paid classes are switched on, and we may ask for proof of qualifications. We can refuse or remove a profile.
• Your intro video must show you, be respectful, and contain no contact details or outside links for booking.

3. Prices and the service charge

• You set an hourly price in Indian rupees for each subject. You can change it at any time; changes apply to new learning plans, not ones already accepted.
• Learners pay the full price to Kokani Connect. We keep a 15% service charge on the amount we receive. You receive 85%.
• For now, Kokani Connect pays the payment-gateway fees. If this changes we will tell you at least 30 days before.
• Learners outside India pay in US dollars at our published rate. When we pay you, we convert what we received into rupees at the current exchange rate and pay you 85% of that.
• The free 20-minute intro is free for the learner and is not paid to you.

Example: 8 one-hour sessions at ₹600 = ₹4,800 paid by the learner. Service charge 15% = ₹720. You receive ₹4,080.

4. How and when you are paid

• We pay you 85% 7 days after a course is marked complete, if there is no open dispute. For courses longer than a month, we pay monthly for the sessions completed.
• We pay by bank transfer or UPI. We ask for your payment details privately; they are never stored on the website.
• Each payment appears in My teaching with the date and reference. Please confirm there when you receive it, or tell us within 7 days if something is wrong.
• You are responsible for your own income tax and, if it applies to you, GST on your earnings. If the law requires us to deduct tax before paying you, we will deduct it and give you a statement.

5. Intros, plans and sessions

• Confirm or decline intro requests within 24 hours. Paid sessions booked from your free times are confirmed straight away, so keep your times up to date.
• Learners who already know you can book and pay for sessions directly from your free times, at least 24 hours ahead, unless you switch direct booking off in My teaching.
• After an intro, send a learning plan with the topics, number of sessions, session length and price. The learner pays only if they accept it.
• Use your own Zoom, Google Meet or Microsoft Teams link. Learners join with the Join button; never send them the link directly.
• Be on time and prepared. Within 24 hours after each session, mark attendance and add the topics covered and any homework.

6. Cancellations

• If you need to cancel, do it at least 24 hours before and offer a new time.
• If you cancel with less than 24 hours’ notice or do not join, the learner gets that session back or a refund, and you are not paid for it.
• If a learner cancels with less than 24 hours’ notice or does not join within 15 minutes, the session counts as taken and you are paid for it.
• Repeated late cancellations or no-shows may lead to suspension.

7. Contact and payments stay on Kokani Connect

• Do not share or ask for phone numbers, email addresses, social media handles or other contact details. Our system hides them automatically.
• Do not take any payment from a learner outside Kokani Connect.
• For 12 months after you first meet a learner through Kokani Connect, do not teach them privately outside the platform.
• Our staff can read messages to keep learners safe and to settle disputes.

8. Keeping children safe

Many learners are children. Their parent holds the account and can read every message. You agree to:

• Teach online only, through sessions booked on Kokani Connect. Never ask to meet a child in person.
• Never ask a child for photos, personal details or private contact, and never message a child outside Kokani Connect.
• Keep your camera, background, language and behaviour appropriate at all times. A parent may sit in on any session.
• Not record a session unless the parent agrees in writing in messages.
• Tell us at once at info@kokaniconnect.com if you are worried about a child’s safety.

We will suspend a teacher immediately, and may report to the authorities, if a child’s safety is at risk.

9. Reviews

• Only learners who completed a course with you can review you. Every rating counts in your average, which shows once you have 3 reviews.
• You may post one public reply to each review. Do not offer anything in exchange for a review, and do not write reviews for yourself.
• We remove reviews that are abusive or share personal details, but not reviews just because they are negative.

10. Your teaching materials

Your notes, worksheets and materials remain yours. Learners may use what you share for their own learning only. Share only materials you have the right to share.

11. Ending this agreement

• You can stop teaching at any time. Finish the plans learners have paid for, or we refund the unused sessions.
• We may suspend or end your access if you break this agreement. Money for sessions you have properly taught is still paid to you, less any refunds caused by the breach.

12. Responsibility

Kokani Connect connects learners and teachers and handles booking and payment. You are responsible for the quality and content of your teaching. We do not guarantee you any number of learners or bookings. Our total responsibility to you is limited to the amounts due to you for sessions taught.

13. Changes and disputes

We may update this agreement. We will tell you by email at least 14 days before a change that affects your pay. If we disagree about anything, we will first try to settle it by talking. This agreement is governed by the laws of India.
