Learner and parent terms

1. Who can book

• You must be 18 or over to have an account and book classes.
• Parents and guardians book for children under 18. Only the child’s first name is used. The parent is responsible for the booking and can read every message with the teacher.
• For young children, we recommend a parent stays nearby during sessions.

2. Free intro and learning plan

• You get one free 20-minute intro with each teacher to talk about goals, level and topics.
• After the intro, the teacher may send a learning plan with the topics, number of sessions, session length and total price. The plan is valid for 7 days.
• You decide whether to accept it. Nothing is charged until you do.
• If you already know the teacher, you can skip the intro: book and pay for up to 10 sessions directly from their free times, at least 24 hours ahead. We hold the times for 30 minutes while you pay.

3. Paying

• Teachers set their own hourly prices. The total for the plan is shown before you pay.
• You pay the full plan in advance to Kokani Connect: in Indian rupees by Razorpay in India, or in US dollars by PayPal elsewhere, at our published rate.
• We hold the payment and pay the teacher after the course is complete. Kokani Connect’s service charge comes from the teacher’s side; you pay only the price shown.

4. Booking and joining sessions

• Book sessions from the teacher’s open times, at least 24 hours ahead. Booked times are confirmed straight away.
• Join with the Join button in My learning, from 10 minutes before the start. Sessions take place on the teacher’s Zoom, Google Meet or Microsoft Teams.
• After each session the teacher records attendance, topics and homework, so you can follow progress.

5. Cancelling and moving sessions

• 24 hours or more before: cancel or move it for free.
• Less than 24 hours before, or not joining within 15 minutes: the session counts as taken.
• If the teacher cancels late or does not join: you get a new time or a refund for that session.
• If something went wrong in a session, tell us within 48 hours from My learning.

6. Refunds

• Before your first paid session: full refund.
• After the course has started: refund for the sessions not yet taken.
• Refunds go back to the way you paid, in the same currency, within 7–10 working days.
• If you and the teacher disagree, we decide fairly using the session records and messages.

7. Safety and respect

• All contact stays on Kokani Connect. Do not share phone numbers, emails or social media handles; our system hides them.
• Do not pay a teacher outside Kokani Connect. We cannot protect or refund payments made outside.
• Sessions may not be recorded unless both sides agree in messages.
• Our staff can read messages to keep learners safe. If anything worries you, use “Report a problem” in My learning or email info@kokaniconnect.com.

8. Feedback and reviews

• When the course is complete we ask you to rate the teacher. Please be honest and fair.
• Your rating counts in the teacher’s average. Written reviews with 4 or 5 stars appear on the teacher’s profile with your first name and initial, or for a child, “Parent of a Class 10 student”.
• We remove reviews that are abusive or share personal details.

9. What Kokani Connect does

We check teachers before they can take paid bookings, handle booking and payment, and step in if something goes wrong. Teachers are independent professionals; we cannot guarantee exam results. Our total responsibility to you is limited to what you paid for the course.

10. Your data

We use your details only to run your classes. See our Privacy policy for what we keep and for how long.
